Spokane Regional MarCom Association Internship Opportunities
Are you a student in search of a rewarding internship experience to prepare you for the world of work? Are you an employer in search of bright, enthusiastic student interns who are seeking real-life work experiences?
Every year during February and March, MarCom matches student interns with MarCom member organizations through its Internship Program. Then during the summer internships, students work for a local host organization while receiving a $2000 stipend and invaluable work experience. View previous intern and host testimonials.
Announcing the 2010 MarCom Interns and Hosts!
Spokane MarCom named three local university students to receive communications internships this summer. The student award winners are:
Heather Kennison, a Whitworth University student double majoring in journalism and mass communications and Spanish. She is a recipient of Whitworth's Talent Award in Journalism, was published in the book Youth Renewing the Countryside and is the Scene Editor for The Whitworthian. Nolan Grady, a Gonzaga University student majoring in applied communications with a psychology minor. His past experiences include event coordination for the Philadelphia Triathalon, membership in Gonzaga's Comprehensive Leadership Program and Haiti Task Force Committee, service with local schools and shelters, and he will be traveling to Africa to serve in Gonzaga's Zambia Intercultural Leadership Program.
Katy Kenealy, a Gonzaga University student majoring in Public Relations with minors in Advertising and Religion. She's a Gonzaga Ambassador and a member of Gonzaga's student PR agency “The Firm”. Her past experiences include internships with Make-A-Wish, Skyridge Medical Center, KYGO radio, Wishing Star and the Lands Council.
The hosts for these talented interns were selected from a competitive field of local community organizations. The 2010 internship hosts are:
City of Spokane, Shriners Hospitals for Children® and Coffman Engineers, Inc.
Internship duties will include assistance with events planning, communications audits, web site content creation and evaluation, design and set up of blogs, creation and/or maintenance of social media efforts, strategic market pursuits, and writing of remarks for public appearances.
