What is MarCom?

MarCom is Spokane's leading communication organization dedicated to advancing the integrated marketing communication profession through professional development, community impact, and a commitment to credibility.

What is the history of MarCom?

The organization was created in the 1960s, primarily as a networking and socializing group. Today, members have taken that foundation and built a professional organization in the Spokane area that has nearly every major employer as a member.

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member is easy. Simply fill out the MarCom membership form. If you have any questions contact Membership Chair Dean Davis at dean@deandavis.com or by calling Dean at (509) 456-8799.

How much does it cost?

The annual membership fee is only $85, with each additional member from the same organization at an even lower cost of $75.

The monthly breakfast meeting fee is:

 MarCom & PRSA Members (at the door, no annual pre-pay)  $15.00
 MarCom Members who pre-pay all 9 breakfasts
 (one-time payment of $115.00)
 $12.50

 Non-Members

What are some of the benefits of being a member of MarCom?

When and where do meetings take place?

MarCom meetings are held on the first Friday of every month, September-June (excluding January), from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

Our first meeting of the 2010-11 programming year (September 10, 2010 will be held at the Herak Club Room at Gonzaga’s McCarthey Athletic Center, 801 N. Cincinnati).

The Herak Club Room is on the south side of the McCarthey Athletic Center, street level.

If traveling on I-90, take exit 282 (Trent/Hamilton). Merge into the left lane and take a LEFT at the light (Trent). Take your first RIGHT (Cincinnati St.). The main parking lot will be 1 block North on your left.

All MarCom meetings for the 2010-11 programming year will be held at the Herak Club Room with any venue exceptions or changes communicated to members well in advance.

Networking opportunities abound at the monthly meetings, where members announce upcoming events and career opportunities. More importantly, MarCom offers top-quality professional development by inviting industry experts to speak at the meetings on a variety of relevant topics.

How can I get more involved with MarCom?

If after becoming a member of the organization you realize you'd like to become more involved, please contact any member of the board to see how you can serve on one of the organization's planning committees or other initiatives.
